ABOUT
As a versatile singer of national and international repute, Beverley has sung on the opera stage in various roles. Her European debut was as The Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Magic Flute. She performed this part to great acclaim when touring The Netherlands with De Nationale Reisopera. Beverley has made her mark, over many years, in the Oratorio and Concert genre, excelling as a soprano soloist in works by Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Schubert, Beethoven, Mahler and Mendelssohn among others.
In 2018, Beverley enjoyed crossing over to the musical theatre genre, playing Mamma in the South African and international touring production of Evita. In 2019, she was cast in the coloratura role of Carlotta in the Phantom of the Opera World Tour. This production toured Manila, Singapore, Malaysia, Israel, Dubai, South Korea and Taiwan with great success. The tour continued throughout 2020 during the Covid 19 Pandemic and was a pioneer for theatre performances across the world.
Beverley has a love for Yiddish Song and was a founding member of The Annual Yiddish Song Festival which ran for 10 years to great approval at the Baxter Theatre in Cape Town. She has also played a cantorial role in the leading of liturgical music on High Holy days at the Progressive Synagogue in Cape Town. Her love for music and singing transcends all boundaries, extending across liturgical music of all faiths.
Beverley has a keen interest in Psychology and as a mature student she obtained her BA and Honours degrees in Psychological Counselling. She incorporates this learning into her voice teaching practice. She enjoys spending time with friends and family and being in nature.
